About the Book: The purpose in writing this book is to give the readers particularly the educated youth, a selection of such verses of the Holy Quran which guide us at each step in our daily lives as much today as when they were revealed 15 hundred years ago.
1. Emphasis on knowledge and exploration of the universe.
2. Good governance through consultation and election of the “Khalfia” through Bayaty (voting) is the basic idea of democracy which Islam had given in an age of the evil Roman and Persian empires. There is no concept of kingship or dynastic monarchy in Islam, but presently most Muslim nations are ruled by either monarch of dictators.
3. Another aspect of good governance is social justice and the Islamic economic philosophy which is based on the equitable distribution of wealth among the masses.
The book contains verses from the Holy Quran, selected from seventy one surahs on the above subjects as well as the code laid down by God for a peaceful, tolerant, liberal and righteous society. The Arabic text along with Urdu and English translations by Maulana Fateh Mohammad Jallandhari and Mohammad Marnaduke Pickthal has also been given side by side.
